Static Shock, whose real name is Virgil Hawkins, is a DC Comics superhero with the ability to control and manipulate electromagnetism. He gained his powers after being exposed to an experimental mutagen during an event known as the "Big Bang" in Dakota City. As Static, he balances his life as a high school student with his responsibilities as a hero, often dealing with other super-powered individuals known as "Bang Babies."
