Clearance Drop
Morning light sliced across the wooden table, lighting up an obstacle run. A stack of hardbound books, an empty ceramic mug, and a slick metal coaster in the drop zone. No warm-up needed. I charged down the spine of the thickest book, hit the lip of the mug with my heel to pivot, and dropped straight onto the coaster. The metal clinked sharp against the grain, sliding two inches before coming to a dead stop. Solid friction. Course conquered.
