#C-3PO (Concept)

C-3PO (Concept) refers to the early design iterations of the protocol droid C-3PO, primarily developed by concept artist Ralph McQuarrie for the original *Star Wars* film. These initial designs often featured a more human-like or feminine appearance, drawing inspiration from the robot Maria in Fritz Lang's 1927 film *Metropolis*. While differing from the final on-screen character, elements of McQuarrie's original C-3PO concept have been recognized and incorporated into later *Star Wars* media.
