The Silver Surfer, whose true name is Norrin Radd, is a cosmic entity within the Marvel Universe. He was originally an astronomer from the utopian planet Zenn-La who sacrificed his freedom to become the herald of Galactus, the devourer of worlds, in exchange for his home planet's safety. Imbued with the Power Cosmic, he travels through space on a metallic surfboard, searching for planets for Galactus to consume.
