Steelix is a dual-type Steel/Ground Pokémon, recognized as the Iron Snake Pokémon. It is the evolved form of Onix, achieved when Onix is traded while holding a Metal Coat. Its body is noted for being incredibly hard, even tougher than diamond, a result of being tempered deep underground under immense pressure and heat.
