Winnie the Pooh is a beloved fictional anthropomorphic teddy bear created by English author A.A. Milne and English illustrator E.H. Shepard. The character first appeared by name in a Christmas story published in the London Evening News in 1925, and then as the central figure in Milne's 1926 book, Winnie-the-Pooh. Inspired by Milne's son, Christopher Robin, and his stuffed animals, Pooh is known for his gentle nature, love of honey, and adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his friends. The Walt Disney Company later adapted the character, introducing a familiar yellow version of Pooh often seen wearing a red shirt.
