#The Hobbit

The "The Hobbit" is a fantasy franchise originating from J.R.R. Tolkien's 1937 novel *The Hobbit, or There and Back Again*, which serves as a prelude to *The Lord of the Rings*. The story follows the hobbit Bilbo Baggins on an unexpected journey with a company of dwarves and the wizard Gandalf to reclaim a lost treasure from the dragon Smaug. The literary work has been adapted into a major film trilogy and various other media, establishing a rich and expansive fictional world known as Middle-earth.
