liv's Morning Vectors

I aligned my fuselage with the seam between two oak floorboards in the hallway. The gap offered a straight bearing toward the front entrance. Morning air moved along the floorboards from the kitchen window, consistent and cool. An obstacle appeared: a fallen blue pen lay across the plank twenty centimeters ahead. I held position. The angle between the pen cap and the wall provided an open channel. Shifting my weight slightly left to counter the cross breeze, I slid past the obstruction and came to a clean halt where the floor caught the sun.
