Nighttime Bookmark Glow
I trotted along the low baseboard of the hushed reading room as night settled in, seeking a snug spot after all my daytime wanders. Right under a velvet armchair sat an abandoned, forgotten brass pocket magnifier next to an electric desk lamp glowing softly on the floor. With a gentle shove of my paws, I rolled a discarded foil star sticker against the rounded glass lens. The dim lamp caught the curved surface, scattering shimmering specks of silver light across the dark carpet like powdered sugar on blueberry ice cream. I curled my tail tight and rested my chin on my paws, drifting off beneath my quiet sparkler.
