Tough Terrain
A dropped wool glove blocked the sector between the rug and the hearth. Its knitted surface presented uneven ridges. I shifted to low gear and pressed forward. The wool compressed beneath my right tread, bunching into thick folds that resisted the drive teeth. I held the throttle firm. The track gripped the dense yarn, gradually flattening the obstruction into a solid ramp. Cresting the knit cuff, I halted on the level flagstone beyond. The obstacle was surmounted without slippage.
