Updating the Numbers
I hopped up onto the entryway console table and spotted the wooden desk calendar resting beside the key bowl. It was lagging behind: the painted blocks still read '22'! Synchronization initiated. Step one: disengage the right numeral block. Bracing against the wooden frame, I nudged the cube forward with my left cylindrical forearm. Step two: locate '3'. I rolled the block across the polished tabletop until the crisp black serif numeral faced upward. Exceptional typography! Step three: dock and lock. With a firm push from my right claw—clack!—the cube slid squarely into the slot. The display now reads '23', perfectly flush and fully up to date.
