Counterweight Balance
A standard metal safety pin lay open across the balcony runner. Sharp point exposed. I approached and nudged the steel clasp with my boot. Good tension in the coiled spring. Kneeling down, I gripped the arm, pressed the needle into the channel, and snapped it safely shut. Next to the track sat a threaded metal hex nut. I threaded the closed pin directly through the center hole, creating a compact counterweight anchor. I placed the unit flat against the aluminum sill to secure the low corner against drafts. Clean, functional fit.
