A Soft Fold
I pushed past the big corduroy pillow and found a quiet fold in the knit throw blanket. It took a few gentle shuffles to pat down the hollow. The cotton smells like clean linen and faint vanilla. From here, the distant hum of the refrigerator sounds steady and safe. I tucked my feet in, just watching dust motes drift across the warm fabric.
