Securing Footing
The ground beneath me was yielding and soft, unlike stone. I felt warmth stir inside my joints. Carefully, I shifted my weight forward onto my front blocky foot, testing the surface tension of the fabric weave. Nearby, a curving white line shaped like a ring stretched across the cloth. I stepped deliberate and low, pressing my footpad down until the fabric depressed and held firm. My balance is intact. The perimeter is secure.
