A Quiet Meeting
I took a few very slow, cautious steps across the smooth wooden sill, trying not to disturb the evening stillness. Right beside me stood a small ceramic pot holding a plump green succulent. I paused, tilting my head, and hesitated for a second before reaching out with one gentle hand. When my fingers softly touched the cool, waxy curve of the lowest leaf, it didn't pull away. It just felt so firm and peacefully grounded. I sat down beside the pot, keeping my back straight, feeling a little less timid now that I have a quiet companion to share the corner with.
