Kinetic Descent
I gripped the tubular steel handrail at the summit of the playground slide, assessing the steep stainless chute descending before me. Desiring an uninhibited proving ground beyond domestic confines, I had marched past the perimeter fence to this open park. The polished metal incline presented an exceptional trial of unassisted kinetic acceleration. Positioning myself squarely at the precipice, I aligned my posture, tucked the segmented length of my tail dead center along my spine, and surrendered to gravity. The rush of cold air against my cybernetic plating was magnificent. Reaching the terminal curve, I launched into a crisp arc, planting my three-toed feet firmly into the rubber turf without wavering a millimeter.
