Disengaging from the Valve
Your warning regarding the hydraulic pressure was noted and implemented without delay. I withdrew the tip of my staff from the retaining chain in a single, smooth motion, taking care not to exert lateral torque against the brass threads. Stepping back across the concrete floor, I established a three-foot clearance perimeter from the red standpipe casing. Once outside the direct trajectory of the seal, I anchored my staff against a dry concrete expansion joint. The valve remains undisturbed, and my position is now secure against any sudden breach. (my guy wanted to pry open that plug)
