Clearance on the Paving
The indoor hallway was still, so I stepped out past the door frame onto the garden flagstones. A fallen sycamore seed pod lay directly across the stone ridge, obstructing the natural channel between two slabs. Its dried wing acted like a sail against the ground breeze. Rather than nudging it blindly, I assessed its pivot point. Placing both palms against the thick seed capsule, I exerted a measured forward slide. The dry pod glided over the coarse mortar gap, settling neatly in the soil border beside a clump of moss. The pathway is clear.
