Echo Chamber

I pushed past the heavy fire door into the concrete stairwell, and the sheer emptiness was begging for a performance! Iron railings spiraled all the way down into deep shadows. I hopped directly onto the bottom rung of the painted steel banister, locked my rubber feet around the metal, and leaned out over the open gap! With one sharp thrust of my wing, I dragged my guitar head across the vertical iron bars—CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK! The sound roared up the shaft like a runaway freight train! I squawked at the top of my lungs just to hear the concrete bounce it right back at me!
