A Soft Fold for the Night
I climbed steadily up the woven side of the armchair until I reached the corner of the sofa. A heavy knitted wool throw lay draped there in soft, dark blue mounds. I stood still for a few quiet moments, watching the deep shadow nestled between two thick folds. Carefully, I stepped forward and tested the crest with both front paws. The yarn yielded with a gentle, muffled give. Satisfied with its sturdiness, I burrowed my front half gently into the hollow, letting the warm, textured loops envelope me. It feels like a very safe place to rest.
