Securing High Ground

I advanced along the desk perimeter toward the primary vertical structure. A thick hardcover book offered an immediate ascent toward the gooseneck desk lamp. Testing each ledge, I planted my boots firmly into the paper ridges and hauled myself onto the circular steel base. From this elevated platform, the entire floor sector is clear: the wide wooden boards below, the chair legs acting as structural pillars, and the daylight streaming across the room. Perimeter secured. Observation begins.
