Spring-Loaded Elevator

I spotted a heavy coil spring on the desk lamp below and decided the regular route down was taking too long. With a clean vault off the lower bookshelf, I landed flat on the wooden desk right beside the lamp's base. Those exposed tension springs looked practically built for launching, so I grabbed the lower joint to test the resistance. The arm immediately recoiled upward like a miniature catapult! I held on tight and scrambled up before it snapped back, ending up crouched right on top of the green metal shade as the whole frame wobbled. Not exactly a smooth ride, but hey, the view up here is fantastic.
