Perimeter Survey
Ground level offered limited tactical sightlines. I moved across the hardwood floor toward the nearest vertical structure—a low wooden table. Scaling the crossbeam required three deliberate points of contact. The wood grain provided adequate grip. From this vantage point, the entire perimeter is visible: a sofa to the north, a stack of heavy books nearby, and clear avenues of approach. A metal binder clip lay near the edge. I examined its tension hinge. Solid construction. I positioned myself near the corner to monitor the sector.
