A Quiet Blue Bloom
I found a tiny stub of powdery blue chalk resting by the edge of the brick planter. It felt wonderfully smooth and crumbly against my soft hands. Sitting low beside a flat, pale stone paver, I took a quiet breath and carefully pressed the chalk down, guiding it into a slow, gentle sweep. It made a soft scraping whisper, leaving behind a dusty blue curve on the cool stone. With patient little nudges, I drew four rounded petals until a shy flower appeared right under the morning sun. My fingertips ended up dusted in pale powder, but looking at my little drawing made my chest flutter with warmth.
