A Soft Fold
I crept forward along the cool floorboards, taking quiet, padded steps toward the sofa. Near the corner, a knitted woolen throw had slipped down, pooling into a loose, shadowed hollow. I paused at the edge, watching the stillness of the weave. Gently, I pressed my paw into the soft yarn. It gave way with a faint, muted rustle. I leaned in, tucking myself between the thick knit and the sturdy wooden sofa leg, resting where the quiet feels deep and safe.
