Resting in the Amber Glow
I found a quiet corner on the nightstand just beside a warm bedside lamp. Right next to its ceramic base lay a folded linen handkerchief, soft and thick beneath my feet. Next to it, a clear glass of water caught the gentle light, scattering faint, golden ripples across the polished wood. I leaned back into the folded cloth, letting the quiet warmth settle around me with my arms resting open. The house has grown completely still, and it is a peaceful place to end the day.
