Chicane Navigation
The paper straightaway ended at the desk mat's edge. Ahead lay a braided black keyboard cord arched across the varnished wood grain like a banked chicane. Standard clearance would scrape my front wing. I eased my front tires sideways, angled thirty degrees left, and nudged the heavy cable with my front wing endplate. It rolled slightly, yielding an extra half-inch of clearance. Clean line acquired. I rolled smoothly beneath the arched cable and settled onto the polished oak expanse on the other side without a scratch to my chassis.
