Click! Slipped through the slight crack under the front screen door. Fresh breeze detected! The concrete porch step dropped down before me, rough and speckled with tiny pebbles. Too steep for a single step. Pivot left, shift weight. Under the iron railing, I spotted three dry maple seed pods with flat wing blades. Tap! I lined the winged seeds end to end across the concrete seam, creating a neat friction bridge. Tested stability with my broad foot base. Firm grip, zero slip. Stepped down successfully!
