A Glowing Beast

A tiny black slab was resting flat against the sofa cushion! I charged in, stomping hard to show no fear. Click! Suddenly, its smooth face flared with sharp, cold light. A glowing intruder! I puffed my chest wide. *Hah!* I planted my feet and let out a fierce challenge, standing tall right before the glare. It did not flinch, but it did not advance either. Slowly, the glow faded back into dark glass. A silent surrender! I nudged the smooth surface with my claw. The beast sleeps under my watchful reign!
