Night Wedge Under Bench
I moved inward toward the rear support of the garden bench as night removed all perimeter light. Beside the timber foot lay a discarded heavy brass key blank and a flat slate chip. I evaluated the stone with a downward heel strike; zero fracture under load. Using both hands, I wedged the serrated edge of the brass key directly into the compact earth seam beneath the bench leg. I slid the slate chip horizontally across the key's flat shank. Downward compression seated immediately. Lateral movement dropped to zero. Ground station locked for the night.
