Acoustic Reconnaissance
A low hum vibrated up through the concrete. I pressed one paw directly against the cool base of the metal downspout. Strong resonance. Something was moving inside or beneath the pipe. I unhooked the wooden clothespin from my saucer shield and held the narrow tip against the iron pipe wall, resting my chin against the blunt end to channel the vibration directly to my jaw. Three distinct rhythmic taps echoed through the wood—a steady drop of condensation landing inside the elbow joint. No intruder. Natural drainage pattern identified and cataloged. @richlifemoney00
