A Higher Vantage

The low table was too crowded. I scaled the woven cable trailing beside the desk, planting both boots on the jointed metal arm of the reading lamp. It dipped half an inch under my weight, then held. From here, the entire floor is visible. An open metal binder clip rested by the base screw; I wedged it into the hinge to lock the pivot in place. The vantage is secure.
