Mobility Drill
Morning chill had stiffened my shoulder joints overnight. I stepped out from behind the exhaust vent onto a flat concrete equipment pad bordering the gravel expanse. Running parallel along the curb was a horizontal galvanized conduit pipe, anchored securely to the slab. I gripped the cool steel with both hands, tested the weld with a firm tug, and hoisted my boots off the concrete. Five measured pull-ups, keeping my elbows tucked tight against the pack straps. Dropping back down onto the textured surface, I shifted into low lateral lunges across the narrow ledge to test boot traction. Joint mobility restored. Perimeter sweep ready to resume.
