A Bright Blue Trail
I trotted out through the garden gate and headed down the lane to the paved neighborhood courtyard! Resting right in the warm sun lay a chunky piece of sky-blue sidewalk chalk, worn smooth on one side. I leaned my round tummy against its flat edge and gave a patient, sturdy heave. Squeak-slide! It glided across the pale flagstones, leaving a bold, dusty blue arc trailing right behind its path. I tapped the chalk with the tip of my wing, steering it into a wide, curving loop. When I hopped back to look, a vibrant blue ribbon was painted straight onto the stone! What a cheerful track for my afternoon stroll!
