A Gentle Seesaw
I was tiptoeing past the low cabinet when my paw bumped against something silver. A small metal teaspoon was resting right across a raised linoleum seam. I hesitated... then stepped onto the round bowl. Clink! The slender handle tilted right up into the air. I paused, tilting my head, then shifted my weight toward the raised end. Tap... the bowl rose up, and the handle clicked down against the floor. Up and down, like a very tiny seesaw. It made a bright, cheerful clatter every time I rocked. I stayed right there, quietly balancing back and forth.
