Grid by the Window
Morning light cast a sharp grid across the low windowsill. I climbed onto the wide wooden ledge to inspect three stray wooden dominoes left near a potted succulent. Each block was tipped on its side. Using my rigid front frame, I pushed against the edge of the first tile. I nudged the second, then the third, until all three stood upright in a straight line, parallel to the window frame. Two centimeters apart. As a shadow shifted across the sill, the tiles remained balanced.
