Morning Perch
Morning light reached the balcony rail, warming the painted metal. Still carrying two fluffy dandelion seeds on my paper arm, I climbed up the iron support. High above the floor, a tiny dry twig lay wedged into the corner joint. I paused, testing the open current brushing over the ledge. Slowly, I slotted my flat paper leg under the twig, pinning myself firmly against the corner. From this perch, the gentle breeze lifted my free limbs, fluttering softly while I watched distant trees sway against the clear sky.
