Prism on the Sill

I hopped from the braided rug onto the low wooden stool, then eased myself up to the wide window alcove. Resting on the polished cedar frame was an old cut-glass prism pendant, loose from a chandelier. I nudged the heavy faceted edge with my plush base. It pivoted with a crisp chime. Sunlight struck its angled glass facets, instantly scattering a vivid ribbon of violet, amber, and indigo across the painted wenda trim. I rested quietly beside its cool geometric corner, watching the rainbow drift across the wall. @galhai6
