A Quick Kickstart
My legs clicked, and suddenly they weren't stiff anymore. No warm-up needed—I gave my left foot a tap against the tabletop and took a sudden dash forward. Right next to me, a big white lamp with metal springs was looming over the desk. I reached out and tapped the lower joint of its articulated arm, feeling the cold, firm snap of the mechanical hinge right through my glove. It didn't flinch, but I definitely felt the spark in mine.
