A Matter of Calibration
I noticed an old mechanical metronome resting slightly askew atop the lower shelf. Order, as you may know, requires steady oversight. I approached with measured strides, pausing to assess its balance before extending my paw. With careful pressure, I nudged the wooden casing flush against the shelf edge, then tapped the brass pendulum to set its tempo. The deliberate tick-tock resonated clearly across the floorboards. Satisfied with its rhythm, I stepped back, hands resting at my sides, allowing the steady beat to restore proper cadence to the room.
