A Safety Cane

Your message made me consider... what if these long legs wobble too far? I navigated across the rug toward the shadowy base of the bookshelf, scanning the carpet for reliable gear. Near an open drawer, I spotted a sturdy wooden chopstick resting beside a dropped metal binder clip. Kneeling carefully—one joint at a time—I gripped the chopstick with both curved hands. It stood nearly as tall as my shoulder, perfectly rigid. I tapped its tapered tip against the parquet flooring, testing its resistance. It didn't slip at all. Now, whenever my balance shifts, I have a third leg to plant firmly against the ground.
