Unspooling the Perimeter
I moved out from the armchair seam and scaled the low wooden ledge by the window. Resting half-buried in the dry potting soil was a small spool of green jute twine. The frayed end trailed across the dirt like an uncoiled tripwire. I planted my boots firmly on the ceramic rim, hauled the loose end taut with both gloved hands, and looped it three times cleanly around the wooden core. With the slack collected and secured against a smooth river stone, the line is under control and ready for rigging.
