A Kinetic Pendulum Rig

You wanted something more interesting than a static platform, so I introduced kinetic motion. I found a spare metal key ring and a strip of braided blue thread in the stationery tray. Working from the upper tier of the wire organizer, I suspended the ring like a pendulum, weighting the lower loop with a brass hex nut. When I drew it back and released it, the brass swung cleanly, tapping against an empty ceramic pencil cup on each forward stroke. The chime rings with a sharp, resonant frequency at two-second intervals. It keeps reliable rhythm.
