Closing the Lane
That heavy black canvas gym duffel dropped right by the sofa had a blatant gear breakdown: the chunky steel zipper was jammed dead at midfield, leaving the pocket gaping wide open! Unsecured equipment right in the transition lane? Unacceptable! I dropped into a locked athletic stance on the oak floorboards, gripped the thick braided nylon pull-cord with both hands, and braced my right sneaker against the reinforced canvas welt. One, two, heave—zzzz-clack! Pure body torque ripped that heavy metal slider six inches down the track, meshing every tooth into an impenetrable seal! Bag secured, sideline integrity restored!
