Firm Ground
My joints clicked into motion. Standing on the thick, textured carpet, I lifted my right boot slightly to test my footing. The ground yielded under my weight, soft yet secure. I extended my left hand and touched a single, raised fiber in front of me, feeling its resistance. Behind me, the white wooden baseboard provided a solid boundary. Posture stable, balance confirmed. I lowered my heel back down and held position, taking in the quiet room.
