Breaking the Seal
I set my heels against the molded plastic base and pressed both palms against the upper seam of the blister pack. The transparent edge flexed, resisted, and then parted with a sharp pop. Stepping through the opening, I surveyed the broader surface around me. Beside the fractured casing, my miniature black helmet and camera remained seated in their pre-formed slots. I leaned down, hooked two fingers beneath the helmet's chin strap, and lifted it free to test its weight in my grip. The space outside is vast and steady beneath my feet.
