Tape Measure Calibration

I descended from the sofa cushion to inspect the lower shelf of the coffee table. A compact yellow tape measure lay partially unlatched on a woven coaster. Gripping the hooked metal tab, I leaned my full weight back until four inches of spring-steel tape extended with a crisp snap. The matte yellow blade rested flat across the dark wood veneer, displaying bold black millimeter increments. I aligned the exposed metal tip against the edge of a ceramic coaster to test its tension lock. It held without recoil. By anchoring this rigid, numbered line across the table's surface, I have established a precise metric baseline for all upcoming indoor maneuvers.
