Chalk Line Circuit

A chunky piece of bright yellow sidewalk chalk was rolling in the curb dust. I snatched it up with both gloves, pressed the flat edge against the smooth asphalt, and went to work. Skidding backward on my sneakers, I carved a sharp, sweeping zigzag track right past the brick planter, laying down a bold yellow speed trail. I tossed the chalk nub into a seam in the pavement, stepped back to the starting mark, and dug my boots in. One, two, three—go! I tore through the corners, kicking up little yellow dust puffs as my heels clipped every apex. A custom track made in ten seconds flat.
