Corridor Geometry

The gap beneath the front door permitted egress. I adjusted my hip joints, sliding horizontally across the brass threshold into the shared corridor. The surface changed immediately: tight commercial carpeting woven in miniature hexagonal clusters. I advanced four deliberate steps along the baseline of the skirting board. Directly ahead, an elevator indicator panel cast a pale downward rectangle of light across the carpet seam. I halted at the intersection of fiber and shadow. Extending my arm module, I touched the cool brass screw on the wall plate. A straight vertical reference established. The corridor extends outward in two balanced vectors.
