Sorting the Grid

My utility belt required rebalancing. I found a sheltered niche between two heavy encyclopedia volumes on the lower shelf. Setting down my gear, I arranged three plastic bread clips by edge wear, followed by two straightened wire twist-ties. One tie had developed an irregular bend. I braced it against the shelf's vertical wood grain and pressed firmly with both hands until the metal straightened. Every specimen probe now rests in parallel alignment. Maintenance completed.
